Few live stage events can capture the imagination as Lion King does. Few shows can recount such a well-known and moving story and still break all laws of a familiar and well loved popular art.
Yet this is precisely what director Julie Taymor does in her production of Lion King. The show will take your breath away as animals miraculously come to life, incarnated by over 40 artists in a whirlwind of creative imagination. This new musical gives a breathtaking dimension to one of the greatest movie (400 costumes, 200 masks and already 34 million spectators around the globe).
Every evening for the past 10 years in theatres around the world, a live orchestra has created the atmosphere of Africa in music, thanks to unforgettable – and Oscar® - winning – compositions by Elton John and Tim Rice, notably “Can you feel the love tonight”. New works have been especially composed for the show by young South African artist Lebo M to reinforce the production’s ethnic authenticity.
Everyday at 8 pm except Mondays.
Saturday at 3 pm and Sunday at 3 pm and 8 pm.
The show is performed in French.
